In the previous series we talked about the E45, E64, E65, E66, E67, E68, and E69 errors. If you didn't read them feel free to search for part 1 and 2 of the series.
The E71 Code ErrorIn part 3 we're going to look at the other errors that seem to be popping up. The first one is the E71 error. If you get this type of error on your console it's probably;y got some thing to do with a "Dashboard Update Error". again, this error is fairly common and can be sorted out by using some console reset codes. Don't worry I have a quick fix:
Try going to the system blade and then select memory. If you don't know what a blade is, A "blade" is a term they use for screen or tab. While pressing left and right on the D-pad you're actually switching blades. After you've done this select "memory", press Y on the HD symbol. Are you with me so far? Then press X,X twice Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you've done this a message should appear saying "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?" If you're with me up to this point select "YES". Select Yes.Now, there are a few more actions that you can do to reset and clear cache but you'll need detailed instructions a few pictures in order to help you do this.
I don't have a fix for the E72 error so I can't really help you on this one. However, the E73 error will most likely be General Hardware Failure. For this you may need to contact Microsoft support. You'll find it's a problem with the Ethernet port. It may be damaged or just needs to be replaced.
E74 Error Problem Is The Most PopularThe E74 error problem is the most popular error you're likely to come across. This has been discussed in countless articles and forums all over the net. I'll briefly touch upon it here, but you're going to need more detailed instructions than what I can offer you in a short article.
The E74 error is most likely a scalar chip problem and can located near the AV cable connection inside your console. There are few causes for this such as overheating or a faulty AV cable. it could also be a problem with the GPU which is the graphics processing unit (occasionally called the visual processing unit VPU).The most common fix is to switch your Xbox console off for a few hours, allow it to cool down and then switch it back on. There have been other fixes like the "towel technique" which I wouldn't advise doing since it's considered quite dangerous and could harm your console.
As you can appreciate, I've only really touched the surface here and haven't done these fixes justice. I'll be honest. Most of my ideas and fixes come from Xbox 360 fix manuals. You can find different types of manuals to help you with your problems and get your xbox working in minutes and not weeks - Click Here for more information.
